Happy 1/2 Birthday!!!

We decided to celebrate Phoenix's 1/2 birthday so that she can have a celebration with her friends since her actual birthday is December 25th. We felt as though she would never be able to have a celebration with her friends on or around her actual birthday because so many people have other commitments and obligations around that time of the year. And because her friends are so important to her, we WANT her to have a celebration of her life with them. On August 1st, we booked Young's Gym in Wake Forest for 1 1/2 hours and had an awesome time with her friends and family. Her very best friends were all present and my parents and sister, brother-in-law and niece were there too. She carries her birthday pictures around and speaks of her birthday and party at least once a week.

Pullen Park

After touring Big Boss Brewery, we went to Pullen Park for the afternoon (Saturday, August 8). It was Phoenix's first time there. She loved every part of it. We got 10 tickets for her to use as she wished between the train, the carousel, and the boat. We rode the train twice as a family, Phoenix rode the boat once, and we rode the carousel twice as a family. Of course, she also enjoyed playing on the playground despite the 100+ degree weather we were experiencing. She has asked to go back everyday. We'll go back when it cools down and we are thinking of taking her when the train becomes the Holiday Express in the winter.
